This is why Left-Bank/Red-Light districts are found in tandem the world over where they house and forge criminal elements with ANTIFA-like antinomian proclivities. From 2004 to 2008, the US Army witnessed something completely unprecedented in modern times: suicide rates among active and non-active troops surged 80 percent compared to the previous ‘stable’ period (1977 to 2003). By 2012, the tragic irony was that US soldiers were more likely to die as a result of suicide than at the hands of a foreign enemy. America only keeps records of its own war dead and does not keep count of the countless number of people deemed civilian or combatant, for that matter. In 2015, the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War estimated that the “war on terror” directly or indirectly killed 1 million people in Iraq, 220,000 in Afghanistan, and 80,000 in Pakistan, totaling around 1.3 million. These figures do not include Somalia, Syria, and Yemen, where the U.S. has operated counter-insurgency operations and bombing campaigns.
In Vietnam, the body count became the marker of success … circumstances of these killings didn’t matter. The unarmed farmer fleeing U.S. troops or villagers (women, children, and the elderly) were all seen as the enemy. This is very instructive because it demonstrates the power top officials have within the U.S. government and military over the rank-and-file to dehumanize them and a people (enemy) to legitimize indiscriminate mass murder. It would appear that such a nation needs to socialize willing and obedient participants and desensitize its population to the carnage it perpetuates as it continues to monopolize the means of violence and attempts to regulate non-state-sanctioned use. The despair that grows alongside the misappropriation of human and economic resources to feed the military and policing apparatuses creates fertile grounds for alienation and anomic conditions.
