Knossos is the oldest city in Europe in one of the oldest civilizations worldwide.
Knossos was the center of Minoan civilization 3000-1600 BCE, Crete Island, Greece; It was inhabited for several thousand years, beginning sometime in the 7th millennium BCE.
It had large palace buildings, extensive workshop installations and luxurious rock-cut cave and tholos tombs.
The Minoan palace is the main site of interest connected with thrilling legends, such as the myth of the Labyrinth, with the Minotaur, and the story of Daidalos and Ikaros.
